A Mental Health & TBI Survivor Initiative

You belong here ‘too’

Behind every diagnosis is a human being with a story, a heart, and a need for connection. We hold space for survivors of traumatic brain injury and mental illness, and we train the systems that serve them.

Why We Exist

No one should
suffer in silence

Our mission is simple. We create a place where people know they belong. A safe and supportive environment where individuals come together to share their experiences, express their emotions, process their pain, ask questions, receive encouragement, and most importantly, be heard.

We believe every person deserves a place where they are not defined or judged by a diagnosis, a mistake, a past experience, or the opinions of others.

Rooms We Reach

kinds of agencies, schools, and organizations we train, from courtrooms and police departments to churches and workplaces.

What We Do

Three ways we build belonging

Support for the people living it. Training for the people serving them. Truth for every room that will listen.

Support Circle Groups

A judgment-free circle where survivors share, listen, learn healthy coping strategies, and rebuild confidence beside people who understand.

In Their Own Words

What survivors carry
every single day

“People think I am not trying, but my brain does not work the same anymore.”

“I look normal on the outside, but I am fighting a battle inside.”

“People judge my behavior instead of understanding my injury.”

“I lost parts of myself and I am trying to learn who I am now.”

Where This Began

Born from love,
loss, and a promise

I Belong Here TOO was founded by Sharletta C. Evans after a tragedy no mother should ever know, and a long walk beside a son living with wounds the world could not see.

“Mental illness is not merely a diagnosis. It is a human experience.”

For Agencies & Institutions

Training for every hand
the system extends

When an officer, a judge, or a case worker understands what trauma and brain injury look like in real life, encounters change, outcomes change, and lives are protected. We bring that understanding into your building.
